After a six-month hiatus we’re raising the "FUNK" to another level. We welcome several key additions to the band, including: the highly acclaimed vocalist and Alligator recording/worldwide-touring artist Michael Hill and the notorious John Zych—from The Big Cats—on keys.

Since 2003, Danny Drexler and The Funky Fritters, an 11-member Blues band w/ horns, have been serving up a bowl of Funky Gumbo and a Hearty Helpin' of New Orleans Mardi Gras, rock, brass, R&B, jazz and gospel. Recently named one of the hottest bands in New York City, the Funky Fritters continue to spice up the stage by adding fresh new talent and guest performers. The band has featured local and well named performers such as: Bassist Jerry Jemmott (Gregg Allman, Aretha Franklin, King Curtis, B.B.King, Wilson Pickett, Roberta Flack), Saxophonist Travis Sullivan (Bjorkestra), Drummer Joe Abbatantuono (Groove Assault, Jessica Simpson), Keyboardist Bill Malchow and Saxophonist Sean Nowell.
